FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Bail for a Bismarck man who was shot by a Fargo police officer after he allegedly pointed a replica gun at the officer has been set at $100,000.

Karmen Redshirt is charged with terrorizing, reckless endangerment and refusing to stop for police. He has not entered a plea.

Friday’s arraignment hearing was held in a Fargo hospital room. KFGO radio reports that Redshirt swore during the hearing and tried to argue with the judge. The defendant was handcuffed and shackled to a hospital bed.

Redshirt was driving a stolen car on the night he was shot. His wife was in the car and spent about a day in jail.

Redshirt’s public defender could not be reached for comment after working hours on Friday.
