FARMINGTON, N.M. (AP) - Authorities say a Farmington woman who was trying to restart her car has died after being run over by the vehicle.

KOB-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1LYgXEj ) police officers responded to a store parking lot Thursday and lifted the vehicle off the 46-year-old woman, but she died from her injuries at the scene.

Police say the woman and a friend were leaving the store when their car died. The woman went to the front of the car to try and restart it when the vehicle accelerated and ran over her.

It is unclear what caused the car to accelerate.
