BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - A judge has sentenced a former educator to 60 years in prison for sexually assaulting a woman in his Biloxi home and cutting her with a knife many times from head to toe.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1Lnwgrn) a Harrison County jury deliberated about two hours Thursday, and found George Lee Parks III guilty on two counts of sexual assault and one count each of kidnapping, aggravated assault and possession of crack cocaine. The crimes occurred Aug. 27, 2014, at his home.

Circuit Judge Chris Schmidt gave Parks the maximum penalties for all five counts.

District Attorney Joel Smith said Schmidt called Parks “a clear and present danger to society and all women.”
