TUCUMCARI, N.M. (AP) - New Mexico State Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a Tucumcari teenager who was killed on Thursday.

Officers from the Tucumcari Police Department responded to calls of gunshots at a residence in town around 4 p.m. They found a 17-year-old boy with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital but later pronounced dead. Another teen, a 15-year-old boy, also was injured and was flown to Lubbock, Texas, to be treated.

State police took over the investigation but haven’t made any arrests yet. The victim has not been identified.
