PHOENIX (AP) - A two-mile stretch of Interstate 17 in north Phoenix was closed for about six hours overnight after a cement truck caught fire.

The cement truck was empty of cement when it caught fire and its driver pulled over at Cactus Road late Thursday night, but it had a full tank of diesel fuel.

The fire at the Cactus Road interchange closed I-17 in both directions.

The freeway was reopened. Friday morning after crews put out the fire, removed unburned diesel fuel and checked the stability of the interchange’s bridge.

No one was injured.
