TUSKGEGEE, Ala. (AP) - Tuskegee University is hosting an actor’s workshop event as part of a continuing series of guest speakers.

Officials say Actress Tasha Smith is scheduled to visit the university Saturday as part of the Tuskegee University Lyceum Series. The actor’s workshop is scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Gen. Daniel James Arena. The event is free and open to the public.

Smith currently has a role in the FOX television drama “Empire” and is known for her role as Angela in the movie “Why Did I Get Married?”

According to the University’s website, the speaker series is expected to include Cornel West, daughter of civil rights leader Malcom X Ilyasah Al-Shabazz and others.
