VALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP) - New Valley City State University President Tisa Mason has officially taken the reins.

Mason was inaugurated on Thursday, officially becoming the school’s 13th president.

KOVC radio reports that Mason said she’s honored to lead the university as it enters its 125th year.

The state Board of Higher Education hired Mason about a year ago to succeed Steven Shirley, who left to become president of Minot State University.

Mason previously served as vice president of student affairs at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas.
