MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (AP) - Applebee’s officials say they will make things right after finding out that an autistic Portsmouth employee went unpaid for about a year.
WPRI-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1Lnr57z ) Caleb Dyl was placed in a training program at the Middletown restaurant and was slated to start receiving wages in August 2014.
Dyl’s parents say they filled out all the necessary forms, but claim he was never paid. They say they filled out the documents again by November 2014 after being told the previous ones had been lost. They say they also contacted Resources for Human Development about the problem several times.
Applebee’s officials now say the restaurant was unaware of the problem and that RHD never contacted them about it. They say a check will be mailed to Dyl as soon as possible.
