RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Two dogs have been quarantined at their owner’s home after the body of a rabid skunk was found in a back yard in Henrico County.

Police say they received a call about the dead skunk Monday evening. The body was submitted to a state laboratory for rabies testing, and the positive test results came back Wednesday.

According to police, the two dogs that were in the fenced back yard had current rabies vaccinations. They received booster shots.

There were no reports of any human exposure.

This is the 11th confirmed positive rabies case in Henrico this year.
