NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Paramedics say a pedestrian was critically injured after he was hit by a person riding a bicycle in Newark.

The collision occurred on Friday afternoon on West Main Street.

New Castle County paramedics say the 18-year-old man suffered a serious head injury after he was hit. He was treated on scene by paramedics and taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital, where he was in critical condition.

University of Delaware police were investigating.
