DARLINGTON, S.C. (AP) - Authorities are investigating after two pedestrians were killed in separate accidents in Darlington County over the weekend.

Coroner J. Todd Hardee tells local media outlets that 55-year-old William Newsome of Florence was struck by a vehicle and killed near Darlington on Friday night.

Sixty-year-old Clyde Benjamin was struck and killed while walking down a street in Hartsville on Saturday night.

Authorities say both men were wearing dark clothing when they were hit.
