ENGLAND, Ark. (AP) - Police in England say a man who shot a police officer continues to elude arrest despite several tips and a reported sighting of the him.
Police told KTHV (https://bit.ly/1MckPwX ) that Sgt. David Houser was shot about 2 a.m. Saturday, but his bullet-proof vest stopped the bullet.
Police say the shooting occurred after Houser tried to stop a vehicle on Highway 15. The driver slowed, then sped away before stopping in the highway. Police say the driver then fired a .40 caliber handgun and Houser returned fire.
Lt. Andrea Rockefeller says the vehicle is an early 2000 model Tahoe or Yukon and was last seen heading south on Highway 15. The driver is described as a Hispanic man with little or no hair and is considered armed and dangerous.
