DETROIT (AP) - About 250 Detroit high school students are expected to attend an educational event that focuses on issues involving the world’s climate.

The youth climate summit will be held Tuesday at the Michigan Science Center in Detroit.

Detroiters Working for Environmental Justice says the summit is part of a program introduced by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy to support education about climate change and energy.

Students will learn about climate justice, climate action planning and green jobs opportunities. They also will take part in planning climate projects at their schools.
