MINOT, N.D. (AP) - The former superintendent and high school principal in Sawyer who was charged last spring with sex crimes involving a teenage boy is now accused of having two more victims.

Authorities on Wednesday filed three more sex crime-related charges against 51-year-old Charles Soper. Minot Police Capt. John Klug says investigators uncovered additional evidence and identified two additional victims.

Defense attorney Eric Baumann was not immediately available for comment.

Soper appeared in court on the new charges Thursday afternoon and a preliminary hearing was set for Nov. 30. He pleaded not guilty earlier to other charges including human trafficking.

Soper now faces eight charges. He could face life in prison without parole if convicted of the more serious allegations. He has resigned from the school and remains in the Ward County jail.
