LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - Lafayette Regional Airport is headed toward another record-breaking year.

KLFY-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1MUtGUs ) the first three quarters of 2015 have yielded 13,342 more passengers at the airport than during the same time in 2014.

The airport saw another record-breaking August with 41,944 passengers. Counts for September were very high as well with 40,900 passengers, making September 2015 the third-best September on record for the airport.

Lafayette Airport Commission Chairman Matt Cruse says last year was the first time ever that more than half a million passengers used the facility. He says it appears they’re on pace to break that record again this year.

Lafayette Regional Airport offers multiple daily nonstop flights to Atlanta, Dallas and Houston.
