WOODRUFF, Wis. (AP) - A Minocqua businessman has ended his run for the 7th District congressional seat in Wisconsin.

Kirk Bangstad says that after three months of campaigning, he realizes he can’t raise the amount of cash he needs to continue in the race. The Democrat says he’ll work to change a system he says gives corporate money too much influence in politics.

The technology consultant also owns a fitness studio with his wife. It was Bangstad’s first run for political office. The 7th District seat is currently held by Republican Sean Duffy.
