TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Community activists in Tampa are experimenting with a unique tool to help victims overcome violent incidents.

Tampa Police say volunteers are getting certified in a type of therapeutic dance that encourages victims to use artistic expression to deal with trauma. The Rainbowdance certification is free for local community members who work with children in challenged neighborhoods.

The Parks and Recreation Department, Champions for Children and other groups are attending as a part of an initiative to address violent crime countywide.
