COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say a 30-year-old inmate serving a 20-year sentence for robbery and other crimes has been listed as escaped from the Iowa prisons work release center in Council Bluffs.

Prisons spokesman Fred Scaletta said in a Friday news release that Jonathon Clausell was placed on escaped status Thursday after an unexcused absence.

Clausell was assigned to the center on Oct. 13. He entered the prison system on Dec. 29, 2008, after convictions for theft and assault in Montgomery County and robbery in Union County.
