KELSO, Wash. (AP) - A Kelso man has been charged with three counts of second-degree rape of a child.

The Daily News reports (https://goo.gl/s6AngD ) Cowlitz County prosecutors charged the man this week. They say he was 17 when the incidents occurred but that he has since turned 18 and will be prosecuted as an adult.

Police say the 13-year-old victim’s mother told them about the alleged rape after the teen told her she might be pregnant.

Court records say the man admitted to having consensual sex with the girl beginning in July.
