ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) - A Colorado man accused of shooting a man at a hotel in the northern South Dakota city of Aberdeen has pleaded not guilty.

Nineteen-year-old Jordan Mercure, of Fort Collins, Colorado, faces several charges including felony aggravated assault charge in the shooting of Curtis Paysen. Authorities allege it happened during an alcohol-fueled argument Aug. 15 at the Hampton Inn and Suites.

Paysen spent four days in a hospital recovering from a head injury.

The American News reports (https://bit.ly/1RhX2zW ) that Mercure is scheduled for trial March 1-3.

Mercure and Paysen attended high school together in Aberdeen.
