CHESTER, Pa. (AP) - Officials say a man accused of robbing two banks has surrendered at an eastern Pennsylvania casino.

The Philadelphia Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/1kXYJsd ) Jeffrey Chernoff of Philadelphia is charged with robbery, simple assault, terroristic threats and related offenses.

An FBI spokeswoman says Chernoff used a note to demand money from a bank in northeast Philadelphia. Investigators say Chernoff also tried to rob a bank in Kensington, but left empty-handed.

Authorities distributed a bulletin with images of Chernoff’s face. They say Chernoff then drove to a casino in Chester on Tuesday and allegedly told a state trooper that he was wanted for a bank robbery.

He remains jailed at Curran Fromhold Correctional Facility.

It’s not known if he has a lawyer who can comment on the charges.
