LAS VEGAS (AP) - Police say a man was shot in the face after opening the door of his Las Vegas home.

Las Vegas police say the man opened the door around 1:30 a.m. Friday and there was some sort of confrontation between him and the shooter. Moments later, the other person shot him in the face and left.

The man was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say a child in the house was taken into protective custody and was not injured.
