LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police say one person has died and several others were injured after a drunk driver ran through a red light.

Authorities say the incident happened shortly before 8:30 a.m. Saturday near Lake Mead Boulevard and Mount Hood Street.

Police say a driver traveled at a high speed through a traffic light and caused a crash that involved four vehicles.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Several others were hospitalized but police have not given any details about the severity of their injuries.

Police say the driver is expected to be released from the hospital and booked on impaired driving charges.
