SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say the body of a missing fisherman has been recovered from a state park in western Pennsylvania.

Emergency officials in Butler County say the body of 51-year-old Walter Powell of Gibsonia was found at about 10:20 a.m. Saturday near Crescent Bay in Lake Arthur in Moraine State Park.

Officials said Powell was last seen launching a canoe at about 7 p.m. Thursday at the Bear Run Boat Launch at the park about 40 miles north of Pittsburgh. A search began after his family reported that he hadn’t returned home from the fishing trip and his pickup truck was found in the parking lot.

Emergency crews, divers and the water rescue team spent Friday searching the 3,200-acre expanse of waters in Lake Arthur and along the shoreline until sundown.
