BUCKEYE, Ariz. (AP) - Police in Buckeye have arrested a man they say robbed dates he got through a dating website.

Sgt. Jason Weeks said Friday that 36-year-old Fredrick Bruno was arrested on charges of theft and there may be more victims.

According to police, a woman says she met Bruno, who called himself “Ricky,” on Aug. 28.

Bruno allegedly asked her to remove her jewelry while her vehicle was stopped.

He then took off with the victim’s purse and cellphone.

Weeks says Bruno found her through a profile on online dating site Meetme.com

Detectives located Bruno and arrested him Tuesday after the victim identified him.

They say Bruno used various sites to troll for robbery victims.

He is now being investigated for similar crimes by Goodyear police and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
