KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) - Kalispell has been awarded a $10 million grant to remove rail lines from the downtown area and build a new rail park on the east side of town.

The Daily Inter Lake reports (https://bit.ly/1OfrcWJ ) that the city has been working since 2010 to get the money for the project.

The money comes of a U.S. Department of Transportation fund.

The project was promoted as a way to create jobs and make transportation safer in Kalispell by reducing rail traffic downtown.
