HOOVER, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say a man has been charged with murder in the ambush killing of a Home Depot co-worker last month.

Local news media reports that Hoover police arrested 23-year-old Kareem Dacar Gaymon on Friday and charged him in the Sept. 5 shooting death of 25-year-old Xavier Montez Beasley. Police say Beasley was found lying with multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot at Home Depot in Hoover.

Police say Gaymon left work two hours earlier that night, hid in the parking lot then opened fire on Beasley.

Police spokesman Capt. Gregg Rector says the store was closed several hours before the shooting occurred around 12:31 a.m., but some employees often work past closing time.

Gaymon was taken to Hoover City Jail and will be transferred to Shelby County jail on a $1 million bond.
