DETROIT (AP) - Authorities say a Detroit police officer has been shot in the arm and leg during a drug raid.

Police tell reporters the on-duty officer was shot Saturday morning on the city’s west side. The unidentified officer and others were fired upon as he approached a house with a warrant.

Police say the suspect and officers exchanged shots but nobody else was struck.

The veteran officer, who was hit by shrapnel, was taken to a hospital but is expected to be OK.

Police say they have arrested several people and are looking for one more.
