WASHINGTON (AP) - Police are investigating after a man was fatally shot in southeast Washington.

Police say they responded to the 1300 block of Morris Road southeast around 6 p.m. Friday for a report of a shooting. When police arrived, they found an adult male who was suffering from gunshot wounds and was unconscious and unresponsive. Police say the man died at the scene, which is a few blocks from the Anacostia Metro station.

Police identified the victim Saturday as 36-year-old Joseph Kenneth Belle of southeast Washington. Police did not release any information about possible a possible suspect or suspects.
