NORWICH, N.Y. (AP) - State police have arrested a 26-year-old upstate New York man for forgery and larceny.

Timothy Green of New Berlin is accused of falsifying business records following an investigation by the New York State Inspector General’s office.

Green was working as a substitute worker for the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities in Norwich when he turned in fraudulent time sheets for work he did not perform from November 2014 through September 2015. State officials say he received over $39,000 in payments.

Green was arraigned Wednesday in Town of Guilford Court and was being held at Chenango County Jail on $50,000 cash bail.

It could not immediately be determined if Green has a lawyer.
