BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Fargo businessman Jim Traynor has been named as the new chairman of the North Dakota Economic Development Foundation.

State Department of Commerce Commissioner Alan Anderson announced the appointment on Friday. Traynor replaces Wally Goulet, who completed his term as chairman last month.

The North Dakota Economic Development Foundation is a private foundation established by the Legislature in 2001 to provide private-sector guidance and oversight of the state’s economic development efforts.
