SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) - A teenager has been sentenced to 45 years to life in prison in the murder of a northeastern Pennsylvania cab driver who authorities said didn’t take his preferred route.

The (Scranton) Times-Tribune (https://bit.ly/1hm7f1N ) reports that 17-year-old Aazis (Ah-ZEES’) Richardson was sentenced Monday in Lackawanna County Court.

He pleaded guilty in August to first-degree murder in the death of 47-year-old Vincent Darbenzio Jr.

The victim was found shot in the back of the head in his idling cab near the entrance to a Scranton housing complex in May 2014.

Police said Richardson was found hiding in an attic and later told investigators that he thought the driver had taken a longer route to cheat him.
