ST. MARYS, Pa. (AP) - Police were investigating after a pickup truck fatally struck a garbage truck driver who was outside of that vehicle collecting refuse in central Pennsylvania.

The Bradford Era (https://bit.ly/1VCY5LC ) reports no charges were immediately filed against the driver of the pickup which struck 44-year-old Jeffrey Lamb, of St. Marys.

Elk County Coroner Michelle Muccio says Lamb died of trauma injuries to the head and trunk during the accident which happened about 6:40 a.m. Monday. Lamb worked for Groll’s Disposal, also of St. Marys.

Police say Lamb’s truck was parked along the road while he and another worker collected trash from both sides of Route 120.

Police say fog and headlamp glare were factors in the crash, which remained under investigation Tuesday.

Nobody else was hurt.
