GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Police in Greenville have arrested two people after shots were fired at officers attempting to carry out a search warrant.

Multiple media outlets report members of the Greenville Regional Drug Task Force were attempting to execute the warrant on the home Tuesday when someone from inside the home fired several shots at them. Authorities say the officers announced themselves before they entered the house.

A statement from Greenville police said task force officers didn’t return fire and left the house until more officers arrived. No injuries were reported.

Authorities say 20-year-old Christian Ivan Cardenas faces several charges, including seven counts of attempted murder. They also said 20-year-old Amber Faith Asbury is facing drug charges.

Cardenas is jailed under a $2.2 million bond. Asbury was released on an unsecured bond.
