LACEY, Wash. (AP) - Two people have died in a crash that toppled a power pole in Lacey.

Washington State Patrol officials say 61-year-old Sherry Ann Hicks was driving a car east when it drifted across the center lane on Highway 510 Wednesday afternoon.

The vehicle hit an oncoming vehicle, spun and then struck another vehicle. The Olympian reports (https://goo.gl/dYYCIq) one of the vehicles struck a power pole, breaking it at the base.

Authorities say Hicks and her passenger, 62-year-old Joe E. Hick died in the crash. Both were from Roy, Washington. The other drivers were not injured.

Washington State Patrol spokesman Guy Gill says food containers were found in the front seat and that distracted driving is a possible cause of the crash.
