ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say they’ve arrested a second man in connection with the fatal shooting outside the Boys & Girls Club in Rochester that left three people dead and four others wounded.

Rochester police say 20-year-old Jalen Jamel Everett was arrested Tuesday. The Democrat and Chronicle of Rochester reports (https://on.rocne.ws/1ZcBwlP ) Everett pleaded not guilty during his arraignment Wednesday on a first-degree murder charge in connection with the Aug. 19 shooting.

Officials say Everett was already in custody after being arrested Sept. 29 at the Buffalo airport as he attempted to leave the state. Police say that arrest stemmed from the theft of a laptop computer.

Johnny Blackshell Jr. of the Rochester suburb of Chili (CHY’-lye) was arrested in mid-September and charged with first-degree murder in the shootings. Authorities say he used a stolen assault rifle to fire into a crowd leaving an evening basketball game.
