LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities in Las Vegas say a 30-year-old woman was arrested felony drunken driving charges after the car she was driving struck and killed one pedestrian and critically injured another on a sidewalk near two elementary schools.

Las Vegas police say 30-year-old Nicole Johnson failed field sobriety tests after the 2007 Honda Civic she was driving veered off Maryland Parkway near Gary Avenue and hit the two men about 7 a.m. Wednesday.

The Clark County coroner identified the dead man as 78-year-old Richard Glen Bryan.

Police say 75-year-old Marko Kustudia was taken to Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center.

A court date for Johnson wasn’t immediately available.

The crash was near Roberta Cartwright and Roger Gehring elementary schools.

It was the 83rd traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas police jurisdiction in 2015.
