LAWTON, Okla. (AP) - A Comanche County jury deliberated for less than half-an-hour before convicting a Lawton woman of child neglect in the death of her 4-month-old daughter.

KSWO-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1LztPlz ) that the jury received the case against 27-year-old Christine Huling at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday and returned the guilty verdict at 10:55 a.m. The jury recommended five years in prison and sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 16.

Defense attorney Taylor Stein denied that Huling neglected the child and said an appeal is planned.

Huling was charged in the September 2014 death of her daughter Alizabeth at the home they shared with the child’s father, Jacob Brenke. Brenke is also charged with child neglect and is also due in court Nov. 16 for a preliminary hearing.
