CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - A 22-year-old Casper man accused driving to California to pick up a teenage runaway has pleaded not guilty to a sex crime.

KTWO radio in Casper reports (https://goo.gl/s5IzEG ) Luke Horneck denied in federal court Tuesday that he traveled to have illegal sexual contact with the girl. His trial is set for Dec. 7.

The case began when Casper police responded to a call from a California man who told them a 15-year-old girl had run away and she might be with Horneck in the Casper area. Police later found Horneck and the girl at a hotel.

Investigators say the two told them they had been friends for more than a year and put together the plan to leave Santa Rosa, California in August.
