WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) - An auto shop owner in Waterloo has been sentenced to life in prison for the killing of a man last year.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports (https://bit.ly/1Pj51Oq ) Judge Todd Geer on Wednesday sentenced Anthony Albert Tronca to the mandatory sentence following his conviction last month of first-degree murder in the death of 44-year-old Ronald Randall.

Tronca was found guilty of shooting Randall in the paint room of his auto shop in September 2014. His body was found days later in a rural area. An autopsy showed he died of several gunshot wounds.

Before the sentencing, Randall’s sister Sandra Schol read a statement, saying Tronca not only shot her brother but “threw him away like garbage.”

Tronca remained silent as he listened to Schol and declined to comment in court.
