LIVERPOOL, N.Y. (AP) - A violent altercation at a central New York convenience store has left two men recovering from stab wounds in a hospital.

The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office says the victims were wounded just after 7 a.m. Thursday in the Syracuse suburb of Liverpool. Deputies say an argument between two men resulted in one of them being stabbed in the chin. The second victim, an employee of the store, was stabbed in the back as he tried to break up the altercation.

Both victims were transported to Upstate University Hospital and were being treated there. Their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The suspect, who fled the scene, is described as a white male in his early 20s, about 5-foot-8. He was last seen wearing a red-colored sweat shirt and khaki pants.
