SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - After listening to dozens of witnesses, a grand jury has cleared three detectives of wrongdoing in the shooting of a 24-year-old man near Syracuse University in July.

The Post-Standard of Syracuse reports (https://bit.ly/1Onqc0W ) that the panel also has indicted the victim, Kadeem Arrindell-Martin, for driving at the officers at a high rate of speed. Arrindell-Martin was arrested after police said he drove at the officers, who shot him in self-defense.

Arrindell-Martin, who was critically wounded, recovered at Upstate University Hospital and is free on $100,000 bail. He faces multiple charges, including two counts of attempted assault on a police officer. His arrest was tied to a crackdown of East Side gangs in the wake of a Fourth of July homicide at a city park near the university.
