LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Five Michigan community development projects that are expected to generate nearly $14 million in total investment are getting state support.

The Michigan Economic Development Corp. announced Thursday the Michigan Strategic Fund will boost the projects.

The village of Edmore has been awarded $625,875 in Community Development Block Grant funds for the Edmore Marketplace, a project that includes restoring a blighted historic building into a year-round, indoor marketplace and activity center.

Benzie County is getting $463,370 for a Crystal Mountain expansion. Hillsdale was awarded $785,500 for blight elimination and rehabilitation needed for the 42 Union Street Redevelopment project.

Munising has been awarded $459,050 for the Pictured Rocks Interpretive Center project. And Port Huron Citadel LLC is expected to get a $200,000 performance-based grant for renovation of the Port Huron Citadel building.
