GREENVILLE, Pa. (AP) - A Pennsylvania man who spent 14 years in prison for a 1997 rape conviction must now stand trial on charges that he lured a girl into the woods, where he tied her up and forced her to perform sex acts.

The (Sharon) Herald (https://bit.ly/1VGsRIQ ) reports Thursday that 54-year-old Walter Krieg, of Mercer, waived his right to a preliminary hearing on felony kidnapping, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and other charges.

Police say Krieg lured the girl into the woods on Sept. 24 near Greenville. That’s about 70 miles north of Pittsburgh.

The girl reported the assault and police chased Krieg in his pickup truck and on foot after trying to arrest him at Walt’s Used Furniture, a business he owns in Sharon. He faces a separate preliminary hearing Oct. 20 on charges including resisting arrest.
