HAMILTON, Mont. (AP) - A southwestern Montana physician charged with 400 felonies for allegedly providing illegal prescriptions to patients remains free on bail.

The Ravalli Republic reports (https://bit.ly/1LmNHBW ) that a judge on Wednesday kept Dr. Chris Christensen’s bail at $200,000.

Ravalli County Deputy Attorney Thorin Geist had filed a motion to revoke Christensen’s bail last week and increase the amount after learning the Florence physician had violated the condition of his release.

Christensen had been ordered to work under a probationary license, which required him to have someone supervise his practice. But he violated the conditions in September after he ordered a stress test for a patient without another doctor’s supervision.

The judge said Wednesday the state Board of Medical Examiners’ recent decision to suspend Christensen’s medical license was sufficient enough punishment.
