McALESTER, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating an employee of McAlester Public Schools.

OSBI spokeswoman Jessica Brown told the McAlester News-Capital (https://bit.ly/1MgVIJz ) that the investigation is into allegations of official misconduct and was opened at the request of the McAlester Police Department. Brown declined to identify the employee.

The newspaper said school board president Angie Nelson could not be reached for comment.

Brown said the investigation could take weeks to complete and that a report will be given to the local district attorney.
