BURLINGAME, Calif. (AP) - Caltrain officials say nobody was hurt when a northbound train struck a vehicle on the tracks in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The transit agency says the driver of the vehicle was able to get out before the crash late Wednesday in Burlingame.

Service in both directions was briefly shut down but resumed before midnight.

The No. 197 train, which was carrying 215 passengers, has been sent for maintenance work. The passengers were transferred to another train.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
