BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) - Police say an eastern Pennsylvania doctor has been charged with sexually abusing two children over three years.

Vamsimadhav Korrapati, of Bethlehem, turned himself in on Wednesday. He is charged with two felony counts each of indecent assault of a person under age 13, corruption of minors and endangering the welfare of children.

Police say the crimes took place from November 2011 to May 2014. Police say he groped two children and made one of them perform a sex act.

The children made statements to Northampton County Children and Youth.

The 41-year-old India native told authorities he has worked at several Lehigh Valley Hospitals. But he says he hasn’t been practicing medicine for more than a year because of the pending charges.

Korrapati’s lawyer declined to comment on the charges.
