HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) - Sentara RMH Medical Center President Jim Krauss is stepping down next year.

The Harrisonburg hospital’s parent, Sentara Healthcare, announced on Thursday that Krauss will retire on June 24, 2016.

Krauss also is Sentara Healthcare’s corporate vice president.

He has served as the hospital’s president since 2007, when it was Rockingham Memorial Hospital. The hospital merged with Sentara Healthcare in 2011.

During Krauss’ tenure, the hospital has added open heart surgery and constructed a replacement facility.

Sentara Healthcare says in a news release that plans for replacing Krauss will be announced at a later date.
