DRAPER, Utah (AP) - Utah regulators are ordering a company operating a gravel mine near Draper to stop work outside its permitted area.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1Rw52hl ) that the Division of Oil, Gas and Mining found Geneva Rock has been mining outside of its permitted area. The Point of the Mountain operation can continue within the permit limits.

The gravel mine straddles the Salt Lake County-Utah County line. Officials say Geneva Rock had a permit to operate on the Utah County side, but had crossed into the Salt Lake County where it is not permitted.

A spokesman for Geneva Rock had no comment and denied they were conducting any unauthorized mining.
